I enjoy reading your blog. I love bamboo flooring. I'm still trying to talk my husband into refinishing our old oak hardwood floors. You remind me of my Aunt Dorothy who was kind of a "Jack of all Trades". or should I say,"Jackie of all trades?" After she divorced at age 36 She single handedly ran a farm, went to truck driving school, barber school. Taught herself dog grooming by practicing on neighbors dogs that wandered into her yard, as well as stray dogs. Then opened her own home dog grooming business. She also added a whole wing onto her house and then went on to train to be a massage therapist. And studied herbal medicine. She loved driving her pickup and camping. This all between the ages of 36 and 60 I visited her in Indiana in 2002 (I live in Florida). She's in her late 70's now and still mows her own lawn ( three acres) and shovels snow from her driveway in winter. She also won two bouts with cancer and a broken hip so far. I told her how much I admired her for being so self sufficient and how she wasn't afraid to try new things. She smiled and said". " I was quite a woman back then, wasn't I"?
I hope you continue to share more of your adventures and home improvements.

Cool hallway. Was there any paintings in the cave?

OH I LOVE CAVES! Looks like you had fun!
Hi Heather,
I found your "original" website about building a small house, and spent the past hour or so poking around your life-ha ha.
You are SO interesting. You are like reading a good book that I don't want to put down, but I also don't want to go too fast because it will be over.
I am SO happy I found you!!!
-Andy (normal, happily married, not creepy-I hope :)
