More about the Dog

Puppy was dumped upon Liz and Eric by my grandmother 7 months ago, and was never reclaimed. They like the dog, but it's a little too much for them. They already have a dog, a cat, and two rambunctious children to take care of. They were also taking care of my grandmother's poodle for several months, but she took that one back.

Personally, I'd never own a dog of that type. I prefer mutts with husky, German shepherd and wolf/lab in them. Something with more brains and personality.

Mom posted more about the dog yesterday over on her blog.

I just hate to see the dog dumped from one person to another. It would seem like just as he is getting comfortable again, he has to go through the whole re-association thing all over. Such a shame!

My mother and her husband are not known for taking care of any living thing.

I was duped into working on her house in AZ for 2 months, to clean it out and move her into the senior apartments 5 hours away. I'm in debt up to my eyeballs thanks to that. I got $56 out of it all.

Liz and Eric and 2 kids got stuck with the 2 dogs. Although I'm sure there must be a few good people from their small AZ town, the dog would have been in danger to adopt it out there.

People presume a lot....don't they? Know few facts but are sure they know the answer. People are stupid. Wendy

Wendy, I see you have a lot of pent up anger toward your mother and do not seem to be very happy with some aspects of your life, but name calling is really uncalled for in this instance. I think people are just animal lovers and have a genuine concern for the dog. Heather gave limited information in her first post and answered most questions in her second post from what I can see. Not everyone reads both journals, and yours just happened to give more information on the original post than Heather's. I don't see any comments/questions on your journal. It may be in the best interest for your health not to get all worked up over such small incidents.

Heather - it's Connie again - I really enjoy your journal and your mom's too. If people don't like it or what you or your mom says - they can move on to other journals - they don't have to stay. :0) I really enjoy your journal :0)

Lea-dialogue = total acceptance and agreement with the Martin's family ideas, hence I am unable to post here.

Debate involves a countering of the other position without focusing on feelings or relationship and often belittles or deprecates
the other person.
Under this definition, Wendy seems to be debating?? Hum?

Geeez people! It's their blog. If you want to be nasty go to a different site. There are plenty of them out there that accept that. They didn't put their website together, thinking "Gee maybe we can get more jerks to insult and degrade us." For shame!

Love the site! Looks like a fine dog.
Come up to Alaska sometime, we'll show you some REAL wilderness. :~)

Dear Alaska: it seems you are not appreciative of the fundamentals of this blog. They have welcomed opposing views. They want to better understand why people's views differ from their own. Or so they say....
And I love Alaska, beatiful countryside.

Differing views are fine, if presented in a decent manner. Being rude is just... well, rude. I have never had a problem with anyone beleiving whatever they want to, but some of the blogs are not civil. Thats all. Any well rounded person should explore many different views and opinions. Thats how we grow and not remain narrow minded. Any moron can be degrading and petty.

I agree that we should all be able to offer opposable views in a civil manner. I personally believe that some people are just joking here. Whether I agree with the comment or not I get a chuckle out of it. If I were to think that I should be offended by some of the posts, then it would stand to reason that I would have to be offended by some of the things that Heather or Wendy have posted also. I don't agree with their points of view on many matters either, but I just read this strictly for entertainment value. Is it truly any more serious than that? I see nothing posted here on either side that is life changing or that evokes any real deep thought. Everyone needs to just lighten up on the lectures and philosophy! Enjoy! Life is just too short. :) Doria

The philosophical views expressed by people here are quite entertaining. You would almost guess in their own little world what they have to say is important. How is this for clarification: YOU are stupid. Now would that be dialogue or debate, Mr. Copperhead? Debate would assume that there was something in my statement that was false or presuming. Of course we both know that is not true. :~p
